Collage of Life ~ Tuesdays Blog Walk

Tuesday Blogwalk Topic provided by: Linda

If you could paint a collage of your life, what would be the 20 most important things that you would have to add to make the picture complete? It can be good, bad, ugly or nice and funny. What makes you the person you are today?

Ok, I am LITTLE late getting this one out.   I have had nothing but trouble with this MSN spaces this week.  I am almost ready to throw it out the window.  However, since I am the person I am... I won't.

I can't say that these go in any particiular order.  So there is no special meaning behind the number on the chart.

    1)  My parents... Ron and Joy ~  My parents have always been there for me.  Specially over the last 3 years.  They have helped my husband and I out so much that I can never repay them for the love, kindness and help that they have shown and given.
    2) My sister....   Stephanie ~  This is my one and only sister and I don't spend hardly any time with her.  We are about 5 years apart in age.  We never got along when we were growing up and now it is hard to get time to see her.  We both have busy and seperate lives.  We need to spend more time together before time runs out.
    3) My husband ~  I have been married to this man for 19 years in October.  I have to say that we have been through alot of stuff together.  We have known each other for a long time.  We dated 4 years prior to marriage and we knew each other 3 years prior to that.  He is my eyes, my ears, my hands, my feet, my strenghten, MY love... I love you babe, more then you will ever know.
    3) My boys ~  I am blessed with the most two wonderful boys.  I always wanted a girl but I am so glad that I got boys.  I would not trade these two in for any thing.  You are my life.   I love you both very much!
    5) My work ~  I have been with my employer for 11 years.  I always get a yearly raise, a Christmas bonus and wonderful benefits.  They were there when my husband was sick and they are kind of like family to me.
    6) My friends ~ I don't have ALOT of friends but the ones that I do have mean the world to me.
    7) My grandparents ~  My grandfather is so special to me.  When he is in pain, I hurt.  I was the first granddaughter and I love both of them with my heart.   I have learned many lessons in life from my grandma.
    8) My Aunt Kay ~ My Aunt Kay has given me many lessons in life as well as adventures.  I love to visit her.  Girls need someone special and she is that person.
    9) My other aunt and uncles ~ I would not be the person I am today without all of my aunts and uncles who have been a part of family.
    10) My sister's husband ~ This man has taught me to be more faithful in my own religion.  Not because he is a "good" role model, but due to the statements he has made about his religion, it has made me seek the truth and knowledge.   We are from two different denominations.
    11) My sister's kids ~  I love these little boogers.  I should spend more time with them.   Shame on me.
    12) My high school Senior teachers/principal ~  They taught me what I needed for my life roles.
    13) My very first job (Terrace Gardens) ~  Working with the elderly and learning how to listen to people and care for them.  Knowing that everyone out there is special.
    14) My special friend ~  Taught me life lesson that will forever have changed me.  This change was for the better.
    15) God ~  For taking our sins and allowing us to be forgiven.
    16) My church family ~  Accepting me for who I am.
    17) My counselor ~ For showing me that I am not the bad person I would like to believe I am at times.  For showing me that I can have smiles that are worthy.  For giving me a reason to know that I am special and I need to look out for myself.   For showing me that freedom is sometimes just around the corner.
    18) Sharon ~  My neighbor/my friend.
    19) Jeana ~ My friend that allows me to share my life with her and she does the same.  It allows my secrets to be "safe".
    20) Love ~  Love is something that so many people take for granted.  I am glad that I have a family that loves me for who I am.

Being Kind or Being Fair? ~ Tuesdays Blog Walk

    Tuesday Blogwalk

    Topic provided by: Aditi

What do you think is more appropriate in a situation - Being Kind OR Being Fair (when the two are very distinct options) ? What are you more likely to do - Be kind Or Be fair ?

This week the question comes from Aditi.

Well, I think that this question has to really be approached from the situation at hand.   In alot of situations you have to be both but what is more important comes from what type of situation you are dealing with.   I also feel that in some situations you can be both.  This is harder to do of course but it is achieveable.

I think that I tend to be more kind.  I don't like to hurt other peoples feelings. I have a hard time not being kind.

When I am waiting in traffic, being fair is usually what I tend to do.  I feel that if I let a car cut in front of me then the car behind me should do the same thing.  I know this is not how it always works because alot of people don't care about being fair to others. I think it is only fair to trade back and forth like that.  Specially true if you are at a concert or special event, where everyone is trying to get out.  But I find that others see that as being kind.

Treating my children with kindness and fairness in hopes they will repay their spouse (if they marry), children (if they have any) and other people in general in the ways that I have shown them.  I sometimes feel that "we" as a world have forgotten what being kind is about.  Everyone seems to be looking out for themselves and we have forgotten to look out for each other.

There is a difference and there are many ways to be fair and kind.  I believe this is a great topic and something that we all need to think about.  We need to list to our hearts more thenwe do.

Why are we born ~ Tuesday's Blog Topic

Our Tuesday's Blog Topic is from The Chosen One ~
Most human beings are born, educated by their parents, then they live life, fall in love, get married, have kids, grow old and then fade away. In that time, they may make money, help some people, but their acts, do the really make any difference at all in a broader perspective. Because I don't think this is the reason why we are born, I'd like to know what our purpose is, if there is any at all.

Well, I have pondered and pondered this week's blog walk and I still don't know exactly how to respond.   I guess I am just not sure what is being asked here.

I do believe there is a higher being out there that we all answer to in our time.   Some of us believe that is God and others believe in other ways.   Does that make any of us wrong?   I am not sure how to answer that without causing a war.  However, my belief is that God is whom we are to answer to.   When you stop and look at the different things in our world (example: the grand canyon, the woods, the lakes and mountains, wildlife, people and all the items around us) you have to really wonder where did all of these things come from.   We all have our own answers and opinions about that.

I believe that we are here for a reason but what reason that is, I am unsure.

The subject is a good one to sit and ponder but to me it takes up too much time.   I would prefer to be out there doing what I can before my time is up.

    Great subject!!!!!!

Sorry it took so long this week.  With the holidays and all that is going on, I just did not have time to get online.    I hope that everyone had a great 4th of July, if you celebrate.    If not, then I hope you all had a great day.

Ideal Vacation Spot ~ Tuesday Blog Walk

What is your Ideal Vacation Spot?   Who would you take? What would you do?    Seperate from your Ideal Vacation Spot: Where is your favorite vacation spot?   (The last one is just a place with no explanation.)

Corboro' tagged me to do the next week's Tuesday Blog Walk.   I am not going to be here this Saturday to post my subject due to being away for vacation.   I decided to make this my subject for the week.

My ideal vacation spot is currently in Branson, Missouri.   A few years ago, we bought a condo in Branson.   It acts like a time share but it is shared with a group of people not a company.   This has been the best thing we could have ever done.   Up until then, we really did not ever take vacation time.   I have more memories over the last couple of years that will last a lifetime.

My family is whom I would take.   Everytime we go, we find something new to do.   My boys have fond memories of Maggie Moo's Ice Cream, Ride-A-Duck tours, and other items that they still talk about to this date.   When my boys are grown and aren't going, I can't wait to spend the time alone with my husband.

My boys are already in Branson with my parents.  My husband and I are leaving today to meet them there.  We will only be able to stay a few days but it will be a time not forgotten.   We plan on going to a show with my parents, swimming in the pool, taking a walk one of the points at the lake (Lake of the Ozarks) and spending time with some friends and family.

To be honest, I always thought I wanted to go somewhere far away and leave everything behind.  But due to recent years, many memories and fun times.... Branson, Missouri is my place.   I know that I could travel to other places that are more exciting, beautiful to look at and different items to do.  But right now, my time is making memories with my boys while they are still in the age of wanting to spend time with us.

My favorite place to go when not in Branson is Kentuckey/Ohio.

I hope you all have a wonderful summer.  Make many memories!

Teachers that make a difference ~ Tuesday Blog Walk

TUESDAY BLOGWALK, write about that teacher who made the difference that still resonates in your life today.

Mrs. Billingsly ~  My senoir year in school was my best year.  It was the first time I had been on the honor roll for the whole year.  I had been on the honor roll off and on but this year was different.   She taught me what being a person was beside teaching me how to work in an office setting.   Our whole class had the time of our life.  We learned about each other, how to care about people and how to care about the most important person... ME!   The class was for business education but "Sherry" taught us that business education was not just working in an office.

The other thing that this woman did for me was encouraged my husband and I on how to have a good marriage.  Sherry's husband was a minister.  My husband, whom I was dating at the time, and I ended up becoming really good friends with the Billingsly's.  After graduation, we helped take care of the house and thier kids during a weekend so they could have some time alone.   John and Sherry gave us pre-marriage counseling and ended up doing our wedding.   They taught us some values that we have carried through this marriage.   It has taken us a while to get those values into order, but we have them and that is what counts.

Sherry taught me more about life then anything else.   Sometimes I feel that if a teacher takes the time to teach you the outside of the class room as well as the inside, that can make a difference in how you end up performing in life.   I learned more my senior year then I did any other time.   The skills along with a life lesson has made me the person I am today.

Thank You Sherry where ever you are.....
